Roof Lanterns

With a Roof Lantern you can add maximum levels of natural light in, whilst also having a unique feature with views of the sky above.

Roof Lanterns are an amazing way to get large amounts of natural light into your home.

Creating an abundance of natural light, Roof Lanterns come with a sense of openness and airness by not only elevating the aesthetics of a room but by also improving its energy efficiency through enhanced daylighting, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day.

Roof Lanterns also have the ability to provide ventilation and a connection to the outdoors, contributing to a healthier indoor environment.

They come available in many different styles, so whether you’re looking for something more traditional or something contemporary, privacy glass or clear glass there’ll be a Roof Lantern that’s perfect for your project. And here at South Hams Roof Windows, we can help you with planning and installation.

Roof Lanterns are more than just a window. Often thought of as an architectural feature, they are made from several panes of glass that join together to create a pyramid that rises above the roof. Frequently used in Victorian times to lighten dark stairwells, Roof Lanterns can be described as being like a high-tech conservatory and a skylight combined. By using a ‘kerb’ (a supporting up-stand), glass panes are held in place by glazing bars which are visible from underneath. You can see these glazing bars, but don’t worry, they are visually stunning.
